Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)


This three year programme leads to the award of the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). The structure of this Programme is as given in the following table. In the third year, an honours student has the option of chosing one of the four groups of subjects for specialization.

NOTE
  1. MIL : Garo, Hindi, Khasi, Mizo, Nepali
  2. Admission will be given only to students opting for Honours
  3. To be eligible, the candidate must obtain at least a Second Division and 50% marks in Book Keeping and Commercial Arithmetic / Commercial Mathematics at the qualifying examination.
  4. Paper VII (MIL / Alternative English of Year II) is to be taken only by General Students.
  5. In the third year, the University offers four optional groups. The College, at present, offers only three of these- the Accounting and Finance group, Marketing group and Business and Computer Applications group. A student is to choose one of these three options.
  6. A limited number of seats are available for girls.
  7. Admission is taken on a merit cum first-come-first-serve basis after the applications are reviewed by a board set up for the purpose and/or a personal interview with the Principal
