Department of Commerce The Department of Commerce was established on the 1st of July, 1948. This was one of the first innovative ventures of the college at that time. It pioneered the introduction of Commerce education in Shillong, which was then the capital of the undivided Assam. Over the years, this department has grown from strength to strength and has built up a name, credibility and recognition for itself and the institution. The course today is one of the most highly demanded courses in the university.
